A pre-investment startup in need of structure and a clear roadmap to attract investors and successfully launch the business. We created a compelling 3 year blueprint that resulted in a multi-million dollar investment and a successful go to market.

Approach

With a number of possibilities, it was important to attain a level of prioritisation and focus, with particular importance on the simplification of the company's value proposition. We set about creating a three year strategy and roadmap with a supplementary pitch deck for potential investors.

The process began by gathering insights through staff workshops and conducting interviews with potential customers and channel partners. While Paul, guided and managed the process, the Executive team each had individual ownership of their components which were brought together and peer reviewed. Key deliverables of the three-year plan included:

  • Vision, Mission, and Values: A well-defined statement of the company's vision, mission, and core values, which set the foundation for all operations

  • Company Value Proposition: A clear and compelling value proposition that succinctly communicated the company's unique advantages to potential customers and investors

  • Objectives: A set of specific objectives and goals that aligned with the company's vision and mission

  • North Star Metric: The identification of a critical success metric, a "North Star," that provided clear guidance for measuring success.

  • Market Analysis and Financial Projections: A detailed analysis of the addressable market, financial projections, and revenue mix

  • Lean Canvas: An essential one-page summary that highlighted key aspects, including the problem the company aimed to solve, the proposed solution, key metrics for performance measurement, unique value proposition, unfair advantages over competitors, target customer segments, and effective distribution channels

  • Company Structure: An organizational structure that defined roles, responsibilities, and reporting lines.

  • Roadmaps: High level roadmaps for Product, Technology, Go-to-Market Strategy, and Account Management

Additionally, a supplementary pitch deck was also created to present the business opportunity to potential investors.

Results

The strategic plan and pitch deck culminated in a multi-million dollar investment being secured. This enabled recruitment in line with the proposed company structure and the roadmaps being operationalised to help guide product build and customer acquisition.
